As soon as demolition began, it was time to start working on the expansion of this new hospital for the children and their families. The expansion was necessary to accommodate the 40-bed capacity of the hospital.
This new $73 million, four-story, 63,000-square-foot hospital consists of many things a family might need. It includes: a full kitchen and dining room, a two-story conference center, a PT/OT gymnasium, a therapy pool, 42 patient beds, and an orthotics laboratory, x-ray rooms, isolation rooms, and three operating rooms,
Construction was performed in two phases to allow the hospital to provide uninterrupted services for children throughout the Pacific.
An additional expansion will later include a family quarters and administration building on the property’s six (6) acres.
MEH aided Ferraro Choi & Associates, Ltd. in mechanical design and integration for the facility’s modern medical technologies, HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems throughout the hospital.
