Mechanical Engineers of Hawaii Corporation (MEH) was established in 1978, and continues to operate out of the same office located in the heart of downtown Honolulu. With loyal and long-time employees, MEH maintains an average staff of 15.
For more than 40 years, we have provided engineering design consultation and construction administration services to a very wide array of project types that include clients in the federal, state, and city government, and private entities. MEH provides practical engineering solutions to implement a wide array of HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection systems. A few notable systems include but are not limited to Solar Hot Water Heating, Water Heat Recovery, and Thermal Storage & Co-Generation.
All key members have a minimum of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, and currently there are licensed Professional Engineers in Mechanical Engineering registered in Hawaii, California and Guam, and one a licensed Fire Protection Engineer registered in California. The firm also has LEED Accredited Professionals and Certified Commissioning Authorities.
The MEH staff has extensive experience in sustainable design and energy conversation measures, incorporating LEED into projects to answer today’s growing energy concerns. These LEED projects implement sustainable solutions in the design to optimize output while using minimal resources.
MEH has successfully completed plans, specifications, and cost estimates for more than 1,000 projects for Private Owners, local and Federal Government agencies participating in new construction and repair/replacement projects. Everything from schools, hospitals, laboratories, shopping centers, housing developments, airport major renovations, museums, drydocks, NASA telescope facilities, and a lot more!
The success of MEH extends past our engineering achievements. We also strive to support and care for our community by volunteering our time and raising/donating funds to organizations focused on helping communities in need within Hawai‘i. We are proud supporters of the YMCA of Honolulu, Special Olympics Hawaii, and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Honolulu. We're also provide Pro Bono work to special clients like St. Andrews Priory and Girl Scouts of Hawaii!

Louis began his career at Phillip Wu & Associates in 1971. Just seven short years later, MEH was formed in Hawaiʻi and the firm still today carries forward its original legacies, including holding the same location at Kukui Plaza in downtown Honolulu!
Kyle has been a practicing consulting engineer since 2003 beginning his career with the Navy designing specialized HVAC systems for terrorist attacks. He returned to Hawaii to join MEH. Kyle is a registered Mechanical Engineer in the State of Hawaii and a LEED Accredited Professional and Certified Commissioning Authority with experience in energy modeling and management systems, and computer simulation.
As more and more projects desire to “Go Green” and utilize environmentally friendly features, Kyle plays even more of a key role in designing and implementing green concepts.
